The Biography Project

In addition to membership dues, donors may also make a special contribution to support the Norfolk Historical Society's education, restoration, and preservation programs.

The Martin YearsOne such project is the Hampton Roads Biography Project, which is working to publish a series of biographies of important figures in the history of twentieth-century Hampton Roads.

The first book, The Martin Years, was published in the spring of 2001. Others are planned.

To keep the books affordable for a wide audience, sales of each book will only support a portion of the publishing expenses. Additional expenses are supported by charitable gifts to the Norfolk Historical Society for the Biography Project.

To make a contribution to the Biography Project, make your check payable to the "Norfolk Historical Society/Biography Project" and send it to:

The Norfolk Historical Society is certified as a tax-exempt, public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and gifts are tax-deductible.
